With Spring approaching, Kelly and I got a start on our cut flowers for the new season at the Birmingham Farmers’ Market last weekend. We planted snapdragons, zinnias, rudbeckia, columbine, pansies, monarda, statice, amaranth, cosmos, ornamental peppers-close to 5,000 plants inside adjacent to all our microgreens. Once the outside ground warms up we’ll be planting liasanthus, sunflowers, Thai basil and our veggie garden. We’re also growing giant pumpkins for the grandkids again this year.
Looking forward to Sunday, May 4 and the Birmingham Farmers’ Market. See you then!
