Growing 38 varieties of microgreens sustainabily in Detroit

Are Our Microgreens Organic?

It’s a question we get asked occasionally and the simple answer is, “no”, but there’s a little more to it. Though we are not certified “Organic”, we do practice many organic methods in the growing of our microgreens. We do not use any chemicals, fertilizers, insecticides or pesticides. We use only NON-GMO seeds and in some cases, our peas and cantaloupe are grown with organic seeds. Our soil is carefully screened to ensure that it is contaminant-free and safe. Overall, we practice safe growing methods and have been recognized and certified by both the Michigan Department of Agriculture and the USDA for those efforts.
Organic Certification is expensive and we feel the expense is unnecessary based on the needs of most of our customers.
