Growing 38 varieties of microgreens sustainabily in Detroit

About Our Microgreens

Motor City Micro Farm is located in Detroit in a 17,000 sq ft facility. We grow our microgreens in soil under LED lights using non-GMO and some organic seeds without utilizing any pesticides, insecticides, chemicals or fertilizers. Our microgreens are grown inside protected from birds and animals and we use the same municipal water you use at home.

We have a HACCP Food Safety plan in place. We take food safety seriously and wear sanitary, protective clothing while harvesting and our staff is trained in food safety practices. We sanitize all our work surfaces and equipment on a regular basis. We even wash and sanitize the trays we grow our microgreens in before filling them.

All of our microgreens are refrigerated immediately after harvesting to insure freshness and prolong shelf life. Most of our microgreens maintain their freshness 9/12 days post-harvest. We don’t wash our microgreens prior to packaging and we do advise you to rinse them before enjoying as some dirt does cling to the greens during the harvesting process.

Please feel free to contact us at any time if you have any questions, comments or concerns mcmf@motorcitymicrofarm.com or 248.660.0843 .
